Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) has achieved a remarkable global distinction, ranking second in the world outside of China, the UK, and the US in the prestigious HSBC Hurun Education Global High Schools List 2024. KTJ is the only school in Malaysia to be featured in this elite ranking.

The HSBC Hurun list evaluates the world’s top schools based on co-curricular activities, reputation, and university placements, featuring 179 schools from 11 countries. Globally, KTJ is ranked 54th, sharing the position with Harrow School in London, UK. The only other ASEAN nation represented on the list is Singapore, with the American High School placing joint 158th overall. This marks the second consecutive year KTJ has been featured on the HSBC Hurun Education Global High Schools List, having ranked 55th globally in 2023.

KTJ’s Principal, Dr Glenn Moodie, expressed his pride in the school’s ongoing success: "It is fantastic that KTJ’s commitment to excellence continues to be recognised on the global stage. Since its founding in 1991, KTJ has championed a high-quality, holistic education. We understand the vital role co-curricular activities play in nurturing responsible global leaders, and each year, our KTJ Sixth Form students receive offers from top universities around the world. A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated staff, whose unwavering support is integral to the continued success of our school."
