Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) in Negri Sembilan proves it provides top quality education when it achieved its best ever results this year in the A level and IGCSE exams.
It recorded a 100% pass rate in the A level exams, with 89% of its students achieving grades A*, A or B. The world percentage for the same grades stands only at about 53%. More notably, 70% of the grades KTJ students obtained were A* and A.
With these grades, KTJ graduates have secured their places at top universities in the United Kingdom including Oxford, Cambridge, the London School of Economics and Political Science, Imperial College London, University College London and many others. KTJ students this year are also heading to universities in the United States which include Columbia and Cornell. Some students have also secured places in top Australian universities.
This international boarding school is proud of its A level cohort this year as 14 students obtained straight A* grades at A level. Many others who took three subjects performed just as well.
KTJ is also proud of its IGCSE results. Nearly 75% of its students obtained grades A*, A or B. This compares with the world percentage of slightly over 43%. Nearly a third of the IGCSE cohort obtained the top grade, A*, with the overall passing percentage being very nearly 100%.
Two of its top students Analysia Watley and Maisey Davidson obtained fantastic results, with the former scoring 10 A*s and an A while the latter scored 10 A*.
These excellent results are from the thorough academic programme at KTJ.
The boarding environment allows teachers to provide support to their students after school hours. KTJ also focuses on developing students in other areas such as sports and extra-curricular activities.
It has world-class athletes among its student population. KTJ’s own Golf Academy has also just started. Its unrivalled range of extra-curricular activities offer students many opportunities to develop life-long skills in many areas. Its debating club is making great strides in competitions, both locally and abroad. This year, the school swept the Malaysian Debating Championship by not only winning the trophy but also every prize at stake, including Best Speaker of the Finals and the Overall Best Speaker of the tournament. Three of the six KTJ participants were also among the top 10 speakers at the tournament.
