Sixth Form

St. Joseph’s Institution International School recently hosted its annual STEM-themed debate competition. KTJ was represented by four students from the Lower Sixth: Amos, Hilary, Weng Kiat and Zarief.

Upon arrival at SJIIS, the team was led on a brief tour of the school campus before being ushered into the auditorium for a briefing session, as well as to meet the competing teams from a range of schools, including Gardens International and IGB. Following inspiring speeches by SJIIS’s Principal and the Head of Science department, the teams were escorted to their respective rooms to prepare for the debate rounds on topics which included climate change, eco-friendly economics, and vaccine mandates.

After spirited rounds of debating, lunch was served, and the prize ceremony went off without a hitch with the KTJ contingent winning the place of the 2nd Best Team overall, and Hilary winning the award for Best Speaker. The KTJ Team departed SJIIS in good spirits!
