KTJ ranked in the top 20 international schools for getting a place at Oxbridge
Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) has been ranked in the top 20 international schools in the world for receiving the highest number of Oxbridge offers within the past three years.
The data was directly obtained from Cambridge and Oxford University by British newspaper, The Telegraph, following a series of freedom of information requests.
Of all Oxbridge colleges, KTJ students have had greatest success with applications to Newnham College, Cambridge, in recent years. When ranked against international schools and British state, grammar and private schools, KTJ has received the 8th highest number of offers to Newnham College, which was founded in 1871.
Director of KTJ Sixth Form, Wendy Jones, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised as a leading international school for Oxbridge university offers. At KTJ, we pride ourselves on providing students with individualised university support through personal mentoring, regular university talks, and extra-curricular academic enrichment sessions. We are lucky that we have such dedicated and passionate staff, who are committed to broadening the horizons of our students and to inspiring them to be aspirational about their futures.”
Founded in 1991 by three members of the Negeri Sembilan Royal Family, KTJ has consistently flown the flag for high-quality, holistic education with an emphasis on developing responsible, global leaders. Earlier this year, KTJ was also awarded the International School of the Year 2021 by the Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA).
The Principal of KTJ, Dr Glenn Moodie, said: “KTJ is delighted to be ranked amongst this list of prestigious international schools. Whatever their aspirations, our aim at KTJ is to ensure students receive university offers of which they can be proud. We are certainly very proud of the many offers which students receive every year from high ranking universities in the UK, the US and around the world. Our staff invest a great deal of time and energy in guiding and supporting students in making the choices which are right for them.”
