From KTJ to Harvard!
Chooi Je Qin made national headlines after becoming one of just six Malaysian students to receive an offer from Harvard University! He graduated from KTJ Sixth Form in 2022 with 4 A*s. He is currently taking Math 55, Physics 19, Astronomy 17 and Expos 20 at university.
What will you miss most about KTJ?
"The friends I made here and the diversity and inclusive culture in KTJ. The students here are motivated and ambitious, active and fun, and my time in KTJ will be a fond memory."
How did KTJ support you with your university applications?
"Ms Susan Renaud was an amazing counsellor who guided me through the US college application process, which is entirely foreign to me as a Malaysian student. She went to great lengths to help each student craft their application to reflect their best self and instil confidence in their future goals. Ms Emma and the academic staff are also enthusiastic in writing recommendations for students, them having no qualms about knowing each student personally throughout the two years of A-Levels in KTJ."
What are you most looking forward to about going to university?
"Meeting new people, learning new content, undergoing an intellectual transformation and taking on new challenges!"
