Here is an article written by a recent KTJ leaver, Chien Teng Chia. She has done exceptionally well since graduating from KTJ. Her undergraduate degree was undertaken at the University of Brown in the USA and she has recently been offered a place at the University of Oxford in the UK. Chien Teng Chia is just one example of the success stories that we can share!

Written by Chien Teng Chia :

For me, Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar was not just a school; it was a support system that prepared me for life - whether it was learning how to live away from home, how to manage intensive workloads or how to foster life-long relationships - I wouldn’t be where I am today had it not been for my KTJ experience. One thing KTJ does exceptionally well is prepare their students for entry into top-notch universities. The Oxbridge-Ivy League preparation I underwent, including numerous mock interviews and an extended essay, was what really helped me set myself apart from other applicants.

Chia Chien Teng currently attends the Ivy League institution Brown University, studying both Economics and East Asian Studies, and will be attending the University of Oxford this upcoming academic year to read Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE).
