Are my children eligible for a KTJ scholarship?

You can obtain more information about scholarship here

Is English used for teaching all the subjects?

Yes. All the academic subjects are taught in English only, except the foreign language classes: Chinese, Bahasa Melayu and French. The English subject is also compulsory for all students other than the Sixth Formers.

My kids are not profficient in English. Can they still enroll?

For potential students of form 1 and form 2, KTJ's English Language Unit (ELU) offers a special English training programme. Students under this programme undertake a higher proportion of rigourous English classes and are introduced to the normal stream only after passing the ELU English test. ELU's teaching staff are professionals and will strive to ensure each student in KTJ is capable of communicating in English fluently.

What examinations do KTJ students sit for?

The primary exams KTJ prepares its students for are the Check Point in form 3, IGCSEs in form 5 and the A-levels in form 6. It is British-patterned, although KTJ also provides SAT classes for the Sixth Formers who are wishing to apply to the American Universities. Apart from the main academic exams, the IELTS (English profficiency test offered by the British Council), the DELF (French profficiency test) and the HSK (Chinese profficiency test) are also available at KTJ with respective preparatory courses. Many Extra Curriculums Activities (ECAs) offer opportunities for students to achieve well-recognised certificates, such as the Trinity Guildhall music grade exams.
